PROFILE :
I am an Executive Librarian working in Vision Eye Research Foundation,Sankara Nethralaya hospitals, Chennai,India
with over 2.5 years of experience working primarily in Information Science environment. In the last 3-4 years I have been
involved in three diverse institutions, comprising of a leading national university where I did both B.L.Sc and M.L.Sc education
and been well trained in all the Departments of its library, Further working in a Arts and Science College, and in a well
established Engineering and Technology college. These experiences have allowed me to obtain a good knowledge of methodologies
used in various institutions, and exposure to various workplace cultures. My role as a student with the Madurai Kamaraj University
of India at the time of my studies in Dept of Library and Information Science, allowed me to gain the initial managerial and
technical skills in a more open and challenging environment by working in various sections of the University Library, along
with working in a Arts and Science College as a Librarian and in an Engineering technology College as a Chief Librarian gives
me valuable experience of delivering solutions under my own initiative. As a Executive Librarian in Vision Eye Research
Foundation (Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai.) Befitting my skills, I have worked with various Library Software's and successfully
completed the Library Automation. Work knowledge in CD-Rom and On-Line Databases, search and information retrieval. E- Journal
Subscription and access. Ability to work in a networked environment. I believe my largest strength is to be the ability to pickup
new technologies and trends quickly and update my knowledge to investigate problems and research their solutions thoroughly without
relying on supervision.
